GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION IN
VITOSHA 100 WALKING AND CYCLING TOUR
I. Introduction
1. These General Terms and Conditions constitute a participation contract between the Organizer and any individual who registers for the Event (referred to as the “Participant”). The contract shall enter into force from the moment of acceptance of the terms and conditions by the Participant. By checking the box “I agree to the General Terms and Conditions” in the electronic registration form and sending it, the person makes an electronic statement declaring that he/she is familiar with these General Terms and Conditions, accepts them in full and undertakes to comply with them. This electronic consent has the force of written confirmation of the contract under general terms and conditions pursuant to Art. 16 of the Contractual Contracts Act and Art. 147a, para. 1 of the Civil Procedure Act, and binds the Participant to the clauses of the contract. In the case of a participant who fills out a physical paper form, the signature on the form (or on a separate declaration) has the same binding effect.
II. Description of the event
2. Name, organizer and nature of the event.
“Vitosha 100 km Walking and Cycling Tour” (hereinafter referred to as “Vitosha 100 Tour” or “The Event”) is an annual mass sports event, including a mountain ultramarathon and mountain biking. It has been held since 1983 once a year, usually in June.
The organizer of the Event is “Vitosha 100” LTD, VAT: BG201640927, with registered office and management address: Sofia, Krasno Selo district, Belite Brezi residential area, 19 Vorino Str., represented by Anna Ivanova Pencheva, hereinafter referred to as the “Organizer”.
The event is recreational, but also competitive in nature – participants compete in time and ranking, and the event is suitable for both amateurs and experienced athletes.
3. Format and route.
3.1. The Vitosha 100 tour includes three disciplines:
(a) Running /Fast Walking/ (100 km),
(b) Cycling (100 km), and
(c) Duathlon (combined participation – 100 km cycling + 100 km running).
3.2. The race route is a complete tour of Vitosha Mountain with a total length of approximately 100 km and over 2000 meters of total positive elevation gain, which the participants in the Duathlon discipline cover 2 times.
3.3. The start and finish are located at the same place – in front of the Boyana Residence, located in the local lane of the Sofia Ring Road. The exact GPS coordinates are: 42°39’18.4″N 23°16’37.5″E.
3.4. The route passes through the following main control points: village of Vladaya, village of Kladnitsa, Studena Dam, village of Chuypetlovo, village of Yarlovo, Plana, Bistritsa, Dragalevtsi, and back to the finish. A detailed description of the route and a map/GPS track are published on the official website of the Event at the following link: https://vitosha100km.bg/en/information/route/
3.5. By accepting these General Terms and Conditions, the Participant declares that he has carefully read the detailed description of the route, available in the link specified in point 3.4 above, and that he is familiar with the specifics of the route.
3.6. The exact route may be changed at the discretion of the Organizer in view of the safety of the participants, permits from the competent authorities or other circumstances – Participants will be notified in a timely manner of such changes.
3.7. This is a mountain race and the route is not completely safe or closed to other persons – during the Event, tourists, cars (on the sections that coincide with the road network), domestic and wild animals, etc. may move along it. At some of the most risky intersections, there is assistance from the police and judges, but Participants must be careful and comply with the rules of the road.
3.8. The Organizer places special markings – orange reflective signs with the inscription “100”, red and white tape and others, as the markings are distinguished from the permanent markings of Vitosha, which do not entirely coincide with the route of the Event. The markings for the competition are placed specifically immediately before its holding and then collected after its end.
3.9. The marking of the route is subject to external interference – it is possible that individual markings may be removed or moved maliciously by third parties, therefore Participants must be especially careful and, if they suspect a deviation, return to the last safely marked place and immediately notify the organizers on the announced phones: +359 877 601 016 or +359 887 262 692 or to the judges at the nearest point.

The route passes through rugged, mountainous and difficult-to-access sections, in which immediate intervention by the Organizer, medical or rescue teams is not always possible. The participant is obliged to realistically assess his capabilities, monitor his own condition and act with increased caution in any situation.

The Organizer provides disposable cups or bottles at the checkpoints IF NECESSARY – each participant must bring their own container/water bottle, which they can fill at the checkpoint.
